Our Mission

East Herts Offices

Key Features

  • Etec were contracted to carry out extensive refurbishments to East Herts Council's offices
  • The project was divided into four phases to achieve logical completion and minimise disruption
  • Phase one involved works to the former external store area including new flooring, doors, ceilings, partitions, wash facilities, kitchen area, and M&E installations
  • Phase two was carried out on the ground floor which included new flooring, carpeting, and decorations as well as new plasterwork and a revised layout
  • The third and final phase were carried out sequentially on the first floor with staff decanted to respective areas to allow the offices to remain operational. Works largely involved reconfiguration of the layout with all associated flooring, ceiling, decoration, and M&E works

Challenges and Solutions

  • It was important to adequately protect and segregate the works areas on order to prevent disruption in other parts of the building
  • We had a limited site set up in order to retain as much of the car park for Council staff as possible
  • This required closely monitored deliveries in order to minimise the need for storage units
  • We also bagged waste in vacant office areas before being taken directly for collection in order to minimise the need for skips on site
